Pune: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve on Sunday said MVA allies will go solo in the civic election and it will not adversely impact their unity.
“Equations of the civic poll are different. Allies fighting on their own will not affect the alliance,” he told reporters, after visiting a temple in Pune city. He said political parties had their own calculations during the state poll and Lok Sabha poll, and it was not the same for the municipal poll. Workers wanted parties to go solo for the civic election. Danve said senior Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had also hinted at the same.
The leader of opposition in the Maharashtra legislative council, Danve, alleged the ruling Mahayuti was making efforts to create a rift in the MVA.
Asked about Aaditya Thackeray’s meetings with CM Devendra Fadnavis, he said it was normal for politicians to meet the CM since resolving citizens’ issues is priority.
Meanwhile, Danve said the law-and-order situation in Maharshtra was worrying. “Criminals are being protected under state cabinet minister Dhananjay Munde. We have been raising the issue since the state assembly session,” he said, adding that Munde should resign, since one of his close associates was arrested in an extortion case.
The politician also demanded that an offence of murder should be registered against Valmik Karad in the case of Santosh Deshmukh’s murder. Deshmukh was the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed. “The govt is protecting criminals. The accused who committed the murder contacted Karad multiple times. The complaint (of Deshmukh’s abduction) was not registered because of pressure from Karad. Why is he not being booked for murder?” he said.
He also claimed that the number of beneficiaries in the PM Kisan Sanman Yojana had dropped. “Earlier, 1.2 crore farmers received aid under the Yojana and the number is down to 81 lakh. The same will happen with the Mukhya Mantri Mazhi Laadki Bahin scheme,” he added.
