PUNE: The Chakan police on Monday arrested a man and booked his five accomplices on the charge of bludgeoning a 16-year-old boy to death on the suspicion of harassing the sister of one of the assailants.
An officer from the Chakan police said around 1pm on Monday, one of the suspects abducted the teenager from an eatery in Chakan and brought him to an open ground close to the Chakan market yard.
“The teenager had a heated argument with the suspect over and harassing the latter’s sister,” the officer said. “The suspect then assaulted the youth with an iron rod, while others kicked and landed blows on him. They then bludgeoned him to death with a big stone and fled from the spot,” he said.
A Chakan police team, led by senior inspector Ashok Rajput, swung into action and arrested one of the suspects.
“During questioning, the arrested suspect revealed that the youth was teasing his friend’s sister for the past few days. His friend abducted the youth and brought him to the ground. Following some heated arguments, they attacked the youth and killed him,” the officer said.
