Pune: A 79-year-old resident of Kondhwa Khurd and his 16-year-old granddaughter fractured their limbs after a high-end bike driven by a 15-year-old boy collided with the senior citizen’s two-wheeler at Pargenagar in Kondhwa on Monday evening.The boy’s legs were also fractured after the accident. The Kondhwa police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the minor and have also named his father for giving the bike to the 15-year-old despite knowing that his son is underage.Assistant inspector Mayur Vairagkar of the Kondhwa police told TOI: “The boy left his home on the motorcycle for a joy ride. The elderly man picked up his granddaughter from her tuition classes and was heading towards his home in Pargenagar.”“The boy was speeding on a small lane. He failed to control his vehicle and collided head-on with the elderly man’s motorcycle. Due to the crash, all three persons fell on the road and sustained injuries to their legs. They were moved to a hospital in Kondhwa, and a medical examination revealed that they had all sustained fractures in their legs,” he said.“They have been admitted to the hospital,” he added.
