Pune: The police challaned over 70 heavy vehicles for plying in no-entry areas in Lonavla this weekend.
Pune district collector Suhas Diwase on June 19 had issued an order to ban heavy vehicles from Khandala exit point to Valvan exit point on the Pune-Mumbai highway from 6am to 10pm to avoid traffic in the city. The Lonavla City police said boards had been installed to alert the truck drivers.“For the first few days, we alerted drivers about the entry ban. Thereafter, we have started issuing challans to them,” Jagtap said.
